Terms of Service

Effective July 26, 2026

Quick Summary

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using ReliefRadar (the "App"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you don't agree, please don't use the App. These Terms work alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how the App handles data.

2. Description of the Service

ReliefRadar helps you find public restrooms near your location — in businesses, parks, transit stations, and other public places — using a mix of Apple Maps place data and ratings, tags, and locations contributed by the community. The App is, and will always be, completely free, with no subscriptions, premium tiers, or in-app purchases.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use ReliefRadar. By using the App, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

4. User-Contributed Content

ReliefRadar lets you contribute star ratings, descriptive tags (like "Clean" or "Free to Use"), and new restroom locations. This contribution system is anonymous — it isn't tied to an account or personal identity.

By submitting a rating, tag, or restroom location, you grant ReliefRadar a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to store, display, and distribute that content within the App so that it's useful to other users. You confirm that your submissions are made in good faith and reflect your genuine experience or knowledge of the location.

5. Acceptable Use

When contributing to ReliefRadar, please don't:

We reserve the right to remove content, or restrict access to the App's contribution features, if we determine in good faith that this section has been violated. If you spot content that looks abusive or false, please let us know.

6. Accuracy Disclaimer

Restroom locations, hours, ratings, and descriptions on ReliefRadar come from Apple Maps and from other users, not from ReliefRadar itself verifying each location in person. Businesses change their hours, close, or restrict restroom access without notice, and community-submitted information can be outdated or mistaken.

Please treat information in the App as a helpful starting point, not a guarantee — especially in an urgent moment, have a backup plan in mind if a listed restroom turns out to be unavailable.

7. Advertising

To help support ReliefRadar's ongoing development, the App may display ads — including small banner ads and video ads — from a third-party ad network. See our Privacy Policy for details on what advertising partners may collect.

8. Intellectual Property

The ReliefRadar name, logo, and app design are owned by ReliefRadar. Restroom location data displayed via Apple Maps remains subject to Apple's own terms. Content you contribute remains yours, subject to the license you grant us in Section 4.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

ReliefRadar is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We don't warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any restroom listed will actually be open, clean, or accessible at the time you need it.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ReliefRadar and its developer will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the App — including reliance on restroom information that turns out to be inaccurate or outdated. Our total liability for any claim relating to the App will not exceed $20 USD.

11. Access & Termination

Since ReliefRadar doesn't use accounts, there's nothing to "terminate" in the traditional sense — but we may restrict or block specific devices or submissions from the App's contribution features if we determine these Terms have been violated.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms as the App evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the App after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, USA, without regard to its conflict of law principles, unless otherwise required by the law of your country of residence.
